Tania Goudas

Psychotherapist, LCSW

I received my Bachelors and Masters Degree from New York University. NYU offers an intensive clinical program to future psychotherapists, ranked one of the top in the United States. In addition, I’ve offered my professional services as a volunteer in Kenya, Belize, India and the former Yugoslavia. I also took a personal interest in the field of Dementia and volunteered at Cabrini Hospital in the Alzheimer’s Unit. I worked intensively with patients that suffered from mild to severe memory loss.

Following graduation, I attended the William Alanson White Institute for further post-graduate training, where I received a certification in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. I passed New York State licensing requirements and received my LMSW (licensed Masters social worker) in 2009 and my LCSW (licensed Clinical social worker) in 2012. NY State certifies therapists at the highest level in the United States. An outline of the content of the clinical examination can be found here

I am an American & Greek Citizen, so I’ve lived in Europe and the USA equally throughout my life. Primarily, my professional career has taken place in New York City. Working in this diverse city enabled me the experience of working with cross-cultural issues which helped me to become a more empathic therapist. My passion is to work with adults and couples in a therapeutic manner of one-on-one psychotherapy; however, my background includes work with the forensic population, addictions, crisis management and children and family group work.
